SENIOR HARDWARE ENGINEER

Responsible for designing and developing electronic systems for precision robotics, including PCB and loom design, testing, and validation. The role involves researching new technologies, ensuring EMC and quality compliance, supporting manufacturing, liaising with suppliers,

and mentoring junior engineers.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide novel and innovative solutions to design requirements and design / product issues for precision robotics.

  • Research new technologies, components and process’s, providing feedback on how they could be used in Company products to add or enhance features cost effectively.

  • Design, develop, layout PCB’s and test electronic circuits, ensuring that the design meets the required functionality, cost, quality, safety, legislative, reliability & aesthetic requirements.

  • Have prototype PCB assemblies manufactured and create appropriate documentation to allow the timely, cost effective and quality manufacture of the PCB.

  • Design, develop and test looms for use in Company products, ensuring that the design meets the required functionality, cost, quality, safety, legislative & reliability requirements.

  • Complete verification validation processes and write up reports on the designed electronics and the systems within which they integrate.

  • Provide EMC solutions for product development and liaise with EMC test house to ensure the product is robust for the market​.

  • Liaise with suppliers, in partnership with Purchasing, on technical issues faced by the supplier and to source new components ensuring an acceptable supply chain can be maintained in production.

  • Constantly reviewing with the Line Manager procedures and process’s to improve the quality of company products at the design & development stages.

  • Execution of project activities in accordance with QMS requirements.

  • Mentoring of junior R&D staff to provide technical help and support.

Who You are

  • BS Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering or related disciplines; MS or PhD will have an advantage.

  • At least 5 years working experience in medical device, electronics , device design & development.

  • Clinical experience is highly desirable.

  • Extensive experience in circuit design and PCB layout.

  • Professional experience working with circuit design software (Altium, etc.).

  • Professional experience working in embedded Linux and/or real-time operating system desirable, but not required.

  • Professional experience in embedded/firmware programming.

  • Passionate with latest technology and engineering success.

  • Able to work under pressure, self-motivated and a team player.

  • Demonstrate effective communication, time management and leadership skills.

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese/ Mandarin).

  • Travel may be required.
